Presentation Objective: Students will demonstrate the ability to
present themselves professionally by performing a self-written speech. They will
demonstrate their ability to use proper projection, diction, and vocal inflection to
persuade an audience.

2) Students will demonstrate increased ability to prepare a character by completing a character evaluation sheet.
3) Students will analyze descriptions, dialogue, and actions to discover, articulate, and
justify character motivation and invent character behaviors while analyzing a pre written
dramatic piece.
Major Activity: Scene Study
Collaborative classroom
activities may include a classroom performance of the play "A Raisin in the Sun" and
a dramatic study of "To Kill a Mockingbird". All 8th grade students will
workshop presentations in conjunction with "The World Food Conference".
